Life in the South West

Well, we have spent just over 6 months here in the South West of WA and have just loved our time here (farm sitting).

We are moving on this week, but I thought I’d share a few recent pics of  what’s been happening lately. If you are ever in this region there are a number of MUST DO’s in my opinion. Leave the van somewhere and take day drives to the wineries, breweries & distilleries or even better do a tour. We luckily had friends stay with us and we took turns being ‘The Skipper’.

In one month we visited 45 wineries, all the breweries and distilleries and drove the Cape To Cape area extensively! Go inland and visit beautiful Nannup & Balingup. There are a number of camping area’s in the region (not so good for van’s relying on solar like us) but still lovely to visit even for a picnic. Lots of tall Karri trees in the Boranup area and a beautiful drive.

We went to the Balingup Small Farm Field Day last weekend which is quite a big deal in the area. All volunteer run and they had quite a turnout!! Brilliant if you are starting out on a farm and want advice or to see what products are available.

We are soon heading north to another farm in the wheat belt region for another ‘adventure’! Will continue soon…..
